Alcove Cabinets, Shelving, Radiator Cover and Media Unit
As part of a living room refresh, we were asked to construct shelving and storage within the alcoves on either side of the chimney breast. The existing radiator had to be covered as part of the new unit, and the unit’s depth had to accommodate a TV.
Unit Design
It was decided to have the lower cabinets of the unit in line with shaker doors and two cabinets of open shelf storage. The homeowners wanted open display shelving as well as cable management for their TV and speakers. To suit the style of the room fluting details and a top cornice were included in the construction.
Built On-Site and Staying Covid Safe
All the work was constructed on-site so that everything fitted perfectly in the room and tight to the walls and ceiling, (which are often not square and true). During the current Covid pandemic we are taking all precautions, as recommended by the government. Windows are kept open in the room we are working in to provide good ventilation. We wiped all door handles with an antibacterial wipe. Any conversations were held safely distanced, and everyone (homeowners included) wore a mask.
