Fitted Wardrobes in Shepherds Bush House, London W12
We have recently completed work on constructing some bespoke fitted wardrobes in Shepherds Bush, London W12 for the homeowner who wanted to maximise space in a first-floor bedroom. The homeowner had already thought about how the area could be used and what clothes and items they would store in their new wardrobe. We were then able to advise on how to achieve this and other design elements that would enhance the wardrobe design. One factor that needed some consideration was how best to store shoes, and how to get the most out of the storage space, without shoes being lost at the back of the wardrobe. To overcome this issue, we proposed the addition of pull out drawer shoe storage. We were also able to advise on hanging rail heights and the best way to divide the proposed wardrobe internally with shelving and drawers.
Wardrobe Construction
Working on-site in the client’s bedroom we built the main wardrobe carcass, which was constructed to allow coving to be fitted to match the existing room features. The majority of our work is assembled on-site, (as opposed to in a workshop), this ensures our carpentry fits tightly, especially in a period property where the walls, ceilings and floors may not be square and true. With the carcass constructed we could move on to dividing the space internally with shelves. The important shoe draws were constructed and fitted using soft close drawer runners. Hanging rails were also fixed as per the wardrobe design. Our client specified shaker style doors, so we constructed a total of six and fitted to the carcass to complete the fitted wardrobe.
This was a unique fitted wardrobe project with custom designed shoe drawers, we had enough space in the property to construct on-site and the finished painted results looked great.
