Full Height Storage and Media Unit
Our Client in Raynes Park SW20 wanted to add cabinet storage, display shelving and TV housing in their living room. After a (Covid-safe) consultation, we agreed on a full-height media unit, with a return to the entrance door to the room. The homeowners had a clear vision of how the unit should look with some researched examples of a similar style.
Unit Construction
The TV recess position was determined first, and this dictated the height of the cabinets and spacing between the shelving. Some of the vertical shelf divider positions were decided during construction with the homeowner.
Following the supplied style guidance, we constructed the display shelves and cabinet carcasses in birch plywood, varnished in Osmo Satin. The cabinet doors were painted with Farrow and Ball Railings No. 31 and were finished with handles selected by our client.
Built On-Site and Staying Covid Safe
All the work was constructed on-site so that everything fitted perfectly in the room and tight to the walls and ceiling, (which are often not square and true). During the current Covid pandemic we are taking all precautions, as recommended by the government. Windows are kept open in the room we are working in to provide good ventilation, (but a bit chilly for Winter working). We wiped all door handles with an antibacterial wipe. Any conversations were held safely distanced, and everyone (homeowners included) wore a mask.
Completed in time for Christmas
The homeowners were delighted with their new media unit, which was finished just before Christmas and ready for the new TV to be fitted.
