We have recently constructed and painted replacement wardrobes in an Oxted home
The homeowners contacted us regarding wardrobes in their master and guest bedrooms. They wanted to replace the existing sliding doors and storage shelving with hinged doors and bespoke storage, all painted and ready to use.
The Master Bedroom
The four existing sliding doors, door track, surround, and shelving was completely removed. Three wardrobe carcases were erected, each with shelves, hanging rails, sliding shirt shelves, and frontless pull out drawers. The breakdown of storage space was discussed and agreed upon in advance to suit the homeowner’s particular needs.
Three pairs of doors were fitted, each with four panel moulding details to match the existing bedroom door and doorknobs.
The Guest Bedroom
The existing two sliding-door alcove wardrobe was disassembled. The new storage layout included shelving above two lower cabinets with hinged doors and pull out drawers.
Materials & Components
All the construction materials were purchased and supplied by Scriveners Carpentry, including timber, timber mouldings, hinges, rails and door ironmongery (to the customer’s taste).
Painting & Finishing
Included two coats of primer, two coats of undercoat and two topcoats of Johnson’s Aqua White.
Construction Work
All the carpentry work was carried out on-site in the homeowner’s bedrooms. The existing rooms were protected as necessary, with any making good work carried out as required. All waste (including the existing wardrobes) was removed and disposed of at the end of the work.
